Almost
like two different paint jobs.
This is an illusion created by special elements in
the paint that reflect gold at one angle and magenta
from the other. This only happens in bright light.
The pictures on the right side (Gold) show some goodies
installed on it, like the led tail light and the high
output halogen multicolor head light. |
The GSX750E was called GS750E in America.

1982 Suzuki GS 750 E

Owner: Ken Flauding, Aptos, California (North end of the Monterey
Bay), USA

Purchased: November 2000

Comments: My bike is not stock,
although it has not had any engine modifications. It has had mostly
cosmetic work done, in order to make it a more comfortable bike
to ride. Since I am over 50 years old, comfort has priority over
performance, although I do like an adrenaline rush every now and
then.

As you can see from the pictures, it is very clean. When I bought
it three and a half years ago it had just over 17,000 miles on
the odometer. It now has just under 25,000.

This past year I've done a lot of work to it. Painted it the magenta/gold
color and put lots of nice after market parts (windscreen, footpegs
etc...) on to shine it up.

Also, for safety I put a Trilliant headlight equipped with a high
output halogen multi-color light. This looks nice, but also make
the bike stand out and works great at night. The tail light is
LED, so it is super bright.

This bike has been great to ride. After not having ridden a bike
for 18 years, I needed a good inexpensive bike for learning all
over again. It has been fun to ride along the California coastline
and in the mountains among the redwood forests.

It took some getting to know, but once I learned it's idiosyncrasies,
it is very easy to start and fun to ride. What I mean is; if it
sits a week or more, it can be a little hard to start.

What I learned: Set the petcock from the bottom position to the
right position about a half hour before starting it. Then, set
the choke at full and let er rip. If it has been a few weeks,
it helps to spray a little starting fluid in the carbs the first
time... after that it starts easily.

Be sure to set the petcock back to the bottom position for riding,
otherwise the bike will flood and die on you. It may be age and
a need for some carb work, but these methods have worked very
well for several years now.

Other than that, it has been very reliable and a fun bike to ride.

1980 Suzuki GSX 750 E

Owner: Ross Goldsmith, Australia

Comments: Bought
a GSX750 brand new in 1980. Made this final modification to
this bike in 1995.

Bit cheesed cause I had owned the bike for 15 years and been
married for only 13. Was never given the choice about which
one I really wanted to get rid off!

About three years later I found another 80 GSX750 and spent
way too much getting it going.

1977 Suzuki RL 250 Beamish

Owner: Tim Bell, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire,
England

Comments: I
have had three Beamish Suzuki trials bikes but I only have this
picture.

The one in the front (the one with the lights) was mine, it's
the only bike i have bought brand new. It cost £787 and
then £30 to buy a lighting kit plus another £10
to register it for the road.

The rear brake had a tendency to snap off. This was altered
on the next model which was red and black also the seat was
changed a bit.. And the last model was yellow and black. They
changed the exhaust. I don't know of any other mods.
