1999 Suzuki GS 500 E

Owner: Jesper Hedegaard, Copenhagen Denmark

Comments: I would rate the GS500E as a contemporary classic;
though still a reasonably modern construction it has been around
for years and still makes sales records, at least here in Denmark.
Last year it was the most sold new bike here again! We
do have problems with crazy registration taxes on all vehicels
here. The GS500E costs 59,995 DKK (about 8,000 EURO) today. I
bought mine new on May 1st of 1999. Had trouble in getting the
fairing in yellow. The German supplier claimed they didn't know
the color in Germany. It took a month for them to give me a price
for an unpainted fairing and to ship it. A good painter here in
Copenhagen did the paint job. Three months after I got the bike
I finally had the fairing ready for mounting. The fairing is made
by 5 Stars and it's 100% equal to the TCP
fairing you usually find on this bike in Denmark. Furthermore
I have mounted a luggage rack made by 5 Stars. Bags are Givi E21
- not too bulky for bike's size but they easily swallow your daily
shopping.

All in all it's a nice everyday bike with enough power for fooling
around in the back roads or cruising on highways. It's pretty
cheap and easy to maintain and insure. I only have two major complaints:
the front suspension is far too soft. It bottoms out even at quick
stop at red light. Exhaust is rust prone, the original routing
of battery breather tube stinks. I encountered an overrun of the
battery after three days. Result: acid on the exhaust pipe! I'm
going to experiment with the front suspension this year, starting
with a pair of insert tubes for increased preload on the front
springs, heavier damper oil too, if necessary. The exhaust pipe
may live another season, if i give it a third repaint. Going to
complete the first 20,000 km within a week or two and I plan to
keep it!

1990 Suzuki DR 350 S

Owner: Ryan Toole, New York USA

Purchased: March 2003

Mods: Totally stock (apart from some stickers)

Comments: I love this bike! It's pretty quick, capable of
about 85-90 mph redlined in 6th gear. Great for trails. Can hold
its own in mud (with good tires). The engine oil runs through
the front of the frame, which keeps the oil cool. I can pop a
wheelie in 1st or 2nd gear with no help from the clutch, can ride
one through 3rd maybe even 4th. The bike is also decent on jumps
but nothing like a lighter 2-stroke 125. Great all around bike,
definently need to get good tires for muddy trails.

1983 Suzuki GS 1100 GL

Owner: Edwin Nijenhuis, Tilburg Holland

Comments: I send her some pictures of my GS1100GL. It's
all original (except for the goodies). As far as I know these
bikes here are all imported from Canada or the USA.
Click on the image for a collage with
several pictures of the bike.

Here's the same bike a few weeks later.

Here's more Suzuki GT380 info.

1972 Suzuki GT 380

Owner: Gordon T. Smith Jr. Mtn. View, Missouri USA

Comments:I found your page and was checking out all the
nice bikes and thought I would send a pic of the 72 380 I'm
putting together. I live in the Missouri Ozarks and there aren't
many parts around for these bikes. I had to use 550 front and
rear shocks and tank. I guess it will be a kind of half-breed,
but it all Suzuki.

2002 Suzuki GSX-R 750

Owner: Eddie Bingham, St. Louis Park, MN. USA

Purchased: 2003

Comments: Here is a picture of my new 750. It is a fully
race modified supersport 2002 Suzuki GSX-R 750. The 600 I still
have and race. It is actually behind the 750 in the picture.
The 600 now looks like the 750 in paint scheme too. I will be
racing two classes this season.

See another picture (taken a year later) on page 61. See even Eddie's
GSX-R600 on page 20.

Here's more Suzuki TS200R info.
 |
1992 Suzuki TS 200 R

Owner: Steve Hann, Toronto Canada

Comments: I bought the Suzuki TS200R in the middle of
this winter during a snow storm. I like the TSR because it is
one of only two dual-purpouse two-stroke bikes made in the last
15 years and was not sold in the USA. The TSR and the Yamaha
DT200 were both built as two-stroke dirt bikes with street legal
equipment. They are fast, light and most of all, run like a
two-stroke.

The TS200R is based on the Suzuki
RM125 chassis and the engine has near the stoke of the 125 and
almost the bore of the 250. I am not sure how many engine parts
from the RM bikes fit the TSR but many chassis parts do. The
bike is in good condition but I will be restoring all engine
and chassis parts to new condition.

1975 Suzuki GT 250

Owner: Gordon Davidson, UK

Comments: I have attached a photo of the GT250M I used
to own. I traded in my GT185 for the 250, I really wanted a
GT380 but couldn't afford one. I had the bike about a year and
it never let me down. I would load it up with camping gear and
just take off for the weekend, I did about 11,000 miles on it.
I traded it in only because the shop I bought it from rang to
say they had some import American GT380's coming in, and they
would give me what I had paid for the 250 as a trade in.
