1972 Suzuki TS 185
Owner: Alan Shepherd,
Edinburgh, Scotland
Comments:”Here's my '72 TS185J Sierra, imported about three years ago from Minnesota and now registered and on the road in the UK. Currently on road tyres, but I have a spare set of knobblies for trips off-road.

No restoration plans, this is a bit of a survivor and still in very decent useable condition.”

1969–1970 Suzuki K 50
Owner: Stef Sep,
South Africa
Comments:”My name is Stef Sep, I am from Holland, but have been living in South Africa for the past seven years.

My father-in-law just gave me his old K50 moped. It is however a K50 with an upright cylinder, not the one with the forward facing cylinder I know.

According to my father in lawit is a 1969 or 1970 model, but I cannot find anything on the web about what I think is a K50 model I.

Could you assist me with specs, settings etc. so I can restore this moped that still is in quite good condition? Last time it was ridden was 1975.”
Is there anybody out there who knows more about these old mopeds and can assist Stef?

1986 Suzuki GSX-R 750 R

Owner: Duarte M. Farias (Dewey), Portugal & Rhode Island, USA

Comments: "The '86 GSXR750RG Limited Edition is currently in my collection at my summer home in Europe. It has 225 miles only and it is completely original.

As a former Suzuki motorcycle dealer (20 years) I've had the opportunity to ride quite a few Suzukis and just felt I had to hold on to this wonderful machine. I also have a number of customized Suzuki motorcycles from the 70s, 80s and 90s here in the USA where I reside most of the time.”

1985 RG 500 Gamma

Owner: Greg Martin,
Perth, Western Australia
Comments: ”I have had many RG500's as I used to race them back in the day. My 0 km bike I purchased from Suzuki Australia. It is the only remaining 0km pre production RG500 in the world. Meaning it has no compliance plate and has a few differences from production models.

There is quite a story to how I purchased it from Suzuki Australia as pre production bikes are normally sent back to Suzuki Japan for crushing. Suzuki in Japan have been asking me for years to sell it back to them but I love the bike too much!”

Comments: "I'm Mike form the U.K. and this is me on my XN85.

I'm trying to find out exactly how many XN's where built. Bit of confusion as to whether it was 1153 or 1053... Can you shed any light on the production numbers as I can't get anyone form Suzuki to answer!”

My reply: Wikipedia says 1153. That's all I know...

1983 Suzuki GSX 750 ES

Owner: Jani Lampo, Forssa,
Finland

Comments: ”My bike was imported from West Germany in 1985. I bought it 2014. I rode it one summer as it was. After that I removed the top fairing and bought new head light and turning indicators.

I also changed the sprockets from 14/43 to 13/52. The top speed is now 160 km/h (5th gear, 9,500 rpm).

The engine is standard but I replaced the standard Mikuni 32 mm carburetor to Mikuni 36 mm and replaced the exhaust system to Motad 4-1 racing exhaust.”

1980 Suzuki GS 400 S
Owner: Terry Walker,
Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada
Comments:”Just stumbled upon your site - it's great.

Thought I would send some photos of my 1980 GS400S, from what I understand sold only in Canada, Japan, and possibly the UK.

The bike is completely original, including paint, exhaust, mufflers, seat, and very rare bikini fairing –this was usually the first item to be lost. The only modification would be the bar-end mirrors.

Currently showing 48,000 kms. Traded with a friend for a '79 GS850G – he purchased the 400 several years earlier second hand from a local Suzuki dealer.

The bike rides and handles very well, and if you 'screw it on' at about 5,000 rpm, it feels like afterburners kick in..!

It will beat any of its contemporary 400s, and I can easily keep up with friends on their 650 and 750cc bikes.”

1981 Suzuki SP 500

Owner: Rob Glover,
Salem,
Oregon
USA

Comments: "My SP500 looked like this before a full restoration. It ran great but the electrical was all messed up, it had seen a hard life.

I believe it has the same motor, and very possibly the same frame, as the DR500. The only real difference I can tell between the two is the design of the headlight. The original color is red.

I also have a '96 DR650SE and a '12 V-Strom DL650.”
