1973 Suzuki GT 750

Owner: Steve Hari,
Australia

Comments: “I would just like to inform you of some strange facts on the GT750 K model.

Production started in August 1972 and the earliest models I have seen are in fact candy red.

The only country I have seen this color is USA. The striping is also different with a yellowy gold flash through the tank.

I live in Australia and decided to import one of these strange models here.

I have enclosed a picture of my girlfriend Cynthia and my dog Shoei on the K model.

The paint is original. The bike is unrestored and the headstock says it was made in 8/72.

The original owner optioned it up at the dealer with crash bars, cowhorn handlebars, king/queen seat, hard bags and fairing (removed).

The screen was ugly so I took it off but here is a pic. The support for the bags has GT750J stamped in them (pictured).

The bike has never been apart as yet and has only 15,000 miles. There is a lot of surface rust on many of the nuts and bolts but it's original.

A few changes happened while the K was in prodution. From 1973 the painted horse shoe headlamp was changed to a round chrome. It was company tradition that all suzuki bikes have a horseshoe shaped headlight before 1972. Also, Suzukis changed to double sided teeth keys on all models thereafter.

The K models also have an all alloy brake master cylinder. All other GT750 had plastic reservoir.

Martin Krause from the German club visited last year so I gave it to him to ride while he was here.

I also have a pic from the cover of Cycleworld (USA).

The last picture is my sister. The K and L models are hers and the J model is mine.”

1985 Suzuki TS 50 ER

Owner: Wayne Delve,
Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom

Comments: “Here's my Suzuki TS50ERKD 1985 model in blue. It is the one where the seat and fork legs are colour coded.

The bike has been restored by myself and my friend Paul Jeanette. He rebuilt it totally and deserves all the credit for restoring it as close as original as possible. I got all the parts and the painting done.

I had one of these bikes as my first bike back in 1982 (when I was 16 I am now 40 years old) and I had so much fun with it then. I am glad I could bring the bike back to life.

I have had trouble finding any pictures of this model and colour and I am looking for a sales brochure. This is a UK bike and I thought you could use these pictures for your website.”

“The bike almost fits the pre RR series but some organisation took a lot of trouble to produce this original street legal race spec. m/c as it is as left factory,” Keith writes. |

1985 Suzuki GSX-R 750 /
1986 Yoshimura GSX-R 750 replica

Owner: Keith Stout,
Portsmouth UK
Comments: “I enclose picture of my '85 Yoshi Enduro kitted GXSR, supposedly built 1986 and imported to UK. It is not faked up but built with race dry clutch, full Yoshi exhaust, cylinder heads, c/r box etc, flat slide mikuni carbs etc etc.
It had to be restored and Japan gave OK for full Yoshi paint scheme for the genuine replica of 1986, imported into UK in 1992 and required quite a bit of work to get to this stage.
It handles very well for the fearless and nicely for a much older individual. I have full frame/engine etc correct numbers still in place. It is road going and in full working order.”

2006 Suzuki GSF1200S Bandit

Owner: Andrew Thomson,
Palmerston North, New Zealand
Comments: “I stumbled across your site and was impressed! Thought I'd better send you a picture of my Bandit 1200S. It's one of the two in this picture taken by my mate.
It's a '06 model which I've had since April 2006 and have just run up the 10,000th km on it.
I previously had a '02 model which I did 44,555 km on before trading it on the K6.
Since buying it I've added a sheepskin seat cover, the muffler off my old bike and a complete set of Givi panniers with topbox. Used mainly for decent sized rides.
I love the effortless grunt and cruising comfort. A lot of people bag Bandits (perhaps because they're cheap or maybe they haven't ridden them) but they are reliable and economical and handle well with good rubber on them.
Feel free to have a peak at my website and blog for more on my bikes and the riding I do.”
