2003 Suzuki GSX1400

Owner: Ian Pain, Long Sutton,
Lincolnshire, England

Comments: ”I purchased this bike new in July 2003 from HBC Motrorcycles in Grantham UK and have covered 2,700 miles in summer use only.

The only mods i have on the bike are Carbon Can road legal cans, stainless oil cooler cover and a rear hugger. I fitted mirror arm extensions as I'm 6-3ins tall and found rear view inadequate without them.

I'm 54 years old and have only been back biking for approx five years and very happy with the comfort and performance of the bike.

This will probably be my last bike and it is fitting as my first was also a Suzuki in 1967, a 250 T20 Super Six.”

2004 Suzuki GSX1400

Owner: Baz Smith,
L incolnshire, UK

Comments: ”I have sent a couple of picture of Ben just prior to a 1,000 mile weekend trip. My bike, 'Ben,' is a 2004 GSX1400, here's my thoughts:

I have owned it for 2 months with 3,000 miles at purchase. Cant keep off the bike hence I have covered some 4,500 miles in just eight weeks!

I am really impressed, superb engine, handling, stability and what a load carrier, wife and set of GIVI luggage fully laden, 90 mph+, no sweat.

Mods include Scorpion carbon cans (run without the baffles), hugger, belly pan, latest GIVI screen, (makes such a difference at high speed, now 100mph is comfortable on motorways), crash bars and shortly a custom made seat and a few engine mods.

Not to sure about the Bridgestones, anyone got thoughts on alternatives?. Planning a seven country tour of Europe, (again, last time on a Triumph Trophy), cant wait. As far as value presence, performance and general appearance its the best bike ever.

Downside, well a bit of corrosion in parts and that seat is not the most comfortable but maybe any bike with the mileage I am doing would be the same.”

2004 Suzuki GSX1400

Owner: Darryl Craigie,
Perth, Western Australia

Comments:”This is a pic of my '04 1400, shes a bewdy. Price tag was only $13,500. As soon as I saw her on the show room floor I knew I had to have her.

To date we've done 14,000 kms together (not bad since we only hooked up in March this year) and still going as she should, pulls real hard mate.
Grunt master you better belive it.

I've had CB750 fours, Yammy RD350s, XS650s and spent a motza to get them to perform. This 1400 is everything I need, so easy to ride, so smooth and in my opinion a spunky piece of motorcycle. Bad in black mate, even bader up on the back wheel.”

2005 Suzuki GSX1400

Owner: Terry Holland,
Brisbane, Australia

Comments: ”Bought this weapon three weeks ago (August 2005). First bike I've owned from brand new. Waiting on a full Yoshi system to arrive from Japan.

I've done 1,400 km on her so far and I'm loving it so is my pillion. We made the move to the Suzi because we want to start doing a bit more touring but I still wanted to be able to cut it when it comes time to play.

Pulling wheelies on this beast is a whole world of fun. All in all the best thing I've ever done buying the Suzi, my wife agrees. I can't get her off the back (no pun intended).”

2003 Suzuki GSX1400

Owner: Richard Casper, USA

Richard was probably the first person (perhaps the only one) who managed to import and register a GSX1400 in the United States. He managed to do that by importing the engine and the rest of the bike separately and them registered the bike as a custom-built bike, if I remember the story correctly. Unfortunely I suffered from a computer crash and I lost most of his e-mails to me.

I lost the story but I managed to find the pictures he had attached, I can show them here.

Richard, if you read this, please send me a note, I would love to tell everybody the story of how you managed to get a GSX1400 to USA!
