Suzuki
motorcycles imported in Finland
19691976
I have gathered here some information
of which Suzuki motorcycle models were imported in Finland, their
prices and some specs that may differ from the specs in other
countries. I am not done. If you have any such information on any years or models
(brochures and magazine ads would be great), pleasetell me about
it. Here's more info.
For those who didn't know, I can tell you that I was born in Finland
and it was there I bought my first motorcycle (Jawa 250) back
in the 1970's. Although I have lived in Sweden since mid-eighties,
I still love my home country.

According
to Tekniikan Maailma 9/1970 there were only three Suzuki models
imported in Finland in 1970: Suzuki
A95, Suzuki T125-II
and Suzuki
T250-II (3 495 FIM). Importer: Bensow Oy. The flagship,
T500,
was unfortunately dropped. The model didn't pass the Finnish
exhaust noise regulations that year and wasn't allowed to be
sold in Finland.

The scans were sent to me by
Markku Nissilä from Finland for publishing on my site. In
1970, there were only three Suzuki motorcycle models available
in Finland (as mentioned in the list above). |

The scans were sent to me by
Markku Nissilä from Finland for publishing on my site. In
the beginning of 1971 there were only three Suzuki motorcycle
models available in Finland (A95-2, T125-2 and T250R). According
to the sales brochure the rest of the models (T350R, T500R, GT750
and TM400R) were perhaps available in the autumn of 1971
or spring 1972. |

1973 Suzuki full line catalog from
Finland (four pages). Click to enlarge. The scans were sent to me by
Veijo Saano from Finland for publishing on my site. The catalog
shows that the models available in Finland were A80, A100K, TS125K,
GT125K, GT250K, GT380K, GT550K, GT750K, T250J, T500K, TM125K,
TM250K and TM400J. I don't know if all the models mentioned were
actually available in Finland. It wasn't certain that TS125, the
TM125 and the TM250 model were to be imported by the time the
catalog was printed. Notice the J models - the T250 and the TM400
were 1972-year's models. The importer was Bensow Oy.
Surprisingly thin catalog for the 1973 lineup, only four pages... |

These scans was sent to me by
Markku Nissilä from Finland for publishing on my site. The
importer, Bensow Oy, had also started to import MZ, that's why
there's a MZ TS125 in the brochure as well. |
More years and models to come.
Have patience.
Please send me catalog scans and magazine adverts.
