The Suzuki GW250 Inazuma is a 248 cc entry-level standard motorcycle sold in multiple markets, including Australia, Asia and Europe. It is called the Inazuma 250 in the EU and the GSR250 in Japan. A GW250S version with a half-fairing was launched in April 2013 and later a full-faired GW250F version, available in some markets. The standard model has only a small cowl around the headlight, providing the rider some protection from the wind and making the bike somewhat more streamlined. With its compact and sharp-looking headlight fairing, prominent fuel tank, and honed rear fairing, the GW250/GSR250 is designed with a distinctive wedge shape that thrusts up from the front to the rear. Its fuel-injected long-stroke 250 cm³ liquid-cooled 2-cylinder engine generates low vibration and noise, and emphasizes rideability at the low and medium speeds frequently used on urban streets. Particular attention was paid to realizing easy handling for entry-level riders and delivering a bike at an affordable price.

The Suzuki Inazuma GW250S with a half-fairing was officially unveiled and launched in April 2013 at the Shanghai Motor Show (Auto Shanghai) in China. An earlier prototype of the Suzuki GW250S was actually unveiled in October 2012 at the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition alongside a police-spec version dubbed the GW250J. Both models were produced by Haojue, Suzuki’s Chinese joint venture and the country’s leading motorcycle manufacturer. A full-faired version of the Inazuma 250 was relesed in September 2014, the GW250F. It was equipped with a wind tunnel tested front cover with built-in ventilation channels and a fixed windshield.
