Suzuki Hayate 110 (GE110D)

I have tried to tell the Suzuki Hayate / GE110D model history on this page as I know it. Hayate is a Japanese word which means “Fresh Breeze” or “Swift wind”.  The Hayate commuter is powered by a 4-stroke, air-cooled, 113cc engine makes for a peppy ride. The bike comes with aluminum cast wheels and drum brakes. It was designed to attract daily commuters. Powered by Suzuki's SEP technology, the Hayate uses Suzuki's super sleek piston, high-ignition spark plug and low friction cylinder and piston rings technology. This aids in improved combustion, high compression ratio, reduced friction and weight reduction. This hence allows the Hayate to give powerful pick-up with great real road mileage. On the convenience front, the Hayate comes with a maintenance-free battery, tubeless tyres and a 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber. This translates into hassle-free travel as well as a more stable ride for both the rider and the pillion.

2014 Suzuki Hayate GE110D, Metallic Lush Green / Glass Sparkle Black (AQM)

A refreshed version of the Hayate commuter motorcycle was launched by Suzuki in India in September 2014. Visual changes were minor. The model got a fully painted side cowl, and new body graphics. The motorcycle received a new maintenance free battery and tubeless tires with broader rims. According to Suzuki, the engineers fine tuned the updated Hayate's 4-stroke air-cooled 112 cc engine and changed its carburetor settings for better efficiency. The engine continues to produce 8.3 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 8.8 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The 4-speed gearbox paired with the engine and wet multi-plate clutch remained unchanged. Previously the Hayate features a 8 litre fuel tank, the bike now gets a 10.5 litre tank with 2 litres of reserve. According to a brochure from India, the 2014 Suzuki Hayate was available in six different colors: Metallic Lush Green / Glass Sparkle Black (AQM), Glass Sparkle Black - Red Graphic (YVB), Glass Sparkle Black - Blue Graphic (ACX), Pearl Mirage White (YPA), Pearl Mira Red / Glass Sparkle Black (JSP) and Pearl Moon Stone Grey (YWC).

Trying to attract more customers Suzuki India launched a new and updgraded model, Hayate EP, in January 2016. The new motorcycle came with a reworked engine, new frame, bigger fuel tank, and reworked side panels. The 113cc engine now comes with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) and uses the company’s high-ignition spark plug, Super Sleek Piston and low friction cylinder and piston rings which allows the motor to produce 8.9 PS at 7500 RPM and 9.3 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM when mated on a 4-speed gearbox. The regular Hayate engine produces 8.4 PS at 7500 RPM and 8.8 Nm at 5500 RPM. The motorcycle has telescopic forks at front and a 5-step adjustable rear shocks. Both the front and the rear wheel gets drum brakes. The Suzuki Hayate EP comes with a new diamond frame which along with 1305 mm of wheelbase ensures the motorcycle’s stability. Other features on the new bike include a maintenance-free battery, tubeless tyres and longer seats, edgy character lines that run from the tank up to the tail and new graphics. The 2016 Suzuki Hayate EP came in three colours: Pearl Mira Red (YVZ), Metallic Oort Grey (YHG) and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB).
