The Suzuki GSX-S750 was introduced for the 2015 season. It replaced its popular predecessor, the GSR750 – and outperformed it. The idea was to make a naked GSX-R750, but the excitement was too much for the GSR to live up to. A naked GSX-R750 it was not – but it was a decent enough middleweight naked roadster. For 2017, the GSX-S750 saw not only a facelift but even a good tickle in the adrenal gland and delivered more of what we’d all hoped for the first time round when the model was introduced two years earlier. The four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 749 cc inline-four engine, was a still a ‘street-tuned’ version of the legendary 2005 GSX-R750 engine, but newly-added crankcase ventilation holes to reduce pumping loss, have resultedin an extra 8 bhp in peak power. An updated version of the GSX-S750 was introduced in the late 2016 as a 2017-year's model. New styling akin to GSX-S1000, along with powertrain, electronic, and chassis improvements are front and center, but perhaps the most significant update to the GSX-S750 is now for the first time it’s 50-state legal and can be sold even in California — but not until a year later, when the model was introduced in the USA. While this appealing aspect of the GSX-S750 hasn't changed, updates to the K5 GSX-R-based engine equate to a 8-horsepower increase from 106 to 114 horsepower (78kW to 84kW) over its predecessor. Accounting for this are newly added crankcase ventilation holes for reduced pumping loss, a larger-volume airbox, new 10-hole fuel injectors, and a revised 4-2-1 exhaust featuring a freer-flowing catalyzer. Suzuki's Easy Start System that premiered on the GSX-S1000 is now included on the S750, allowing one-touch auto-start that doesn't require the clutch to be disengaged when the bike is in neutral. It also gets the Suzuki Low RPM Assist feature that increases idle speed by a few hundred revs as the clutch is engaged with the bike in gear. Updated transmission ratios. New three-mode Traction Control System. Ever the braking system was updated. The GSX-S750 reveived a new Nissin front brake package with floating petal discs and Nissin radial-mount four-piston monoblock calipers and 310mm petal-type rotors up front. ABS eacame standard fitment on several markets. Spring preload remains the sole suspension adjustment front and rear. Damping is calibrated on the sporting side, providing responsive handling feel and steadfast stability at the expense of ride comfort when encountering sharp bumps. New tapered swingarm design. The updated version of the GSX-S750 was introduced in the late 2017 as a 2018-year's model in the USA. For the first time, thanks to the catalyzer, the GSX-S750 is now for the first time 50-state legal in the USA and can be sold even in California. The GSX-S750 is available in a new white paint scheme for 2018, with red and black graphics and red wheels, while the GSX-S750 - which was new for 2017 - can now be had in an eye-catching red and black livery, alongside the classic blue and black option and all-black Phantom/Z-model. The GSX-S750 came in three new colour options for 2019. An all-blue model nods subtly to Suzuki’s MotoGP GSX-RR, with yellow and white flashes. 2020 GSX-S750 Moto GP Replica with Akrapovic exhaust, available in France.

In June 2020, Suzuki unveiled a special edition GSX-S750 MotoGP Replica with blue/silver finish and Akrapovic slip-on exhaust for the French market. The MotoGP Replica of the GSX-S750 celebrates the Japanese brand's 100th anniversary and 60 years in racing. For the rest of the available models, not much has changed other than colors. Black exhaust on all 2020 GSX-S750 models except for the matte black version. In some countries they were called Z-models but such model is not even mentioned in the Global Suzuki brochure. The version with ABS brakes weighs about 2 kg (5 lbs) more than with standard brakes. ABS has become standard equipment on most vehicles and mandatory in many parts of the world. In Europe, ABS has been required on all new motorcycle models with more than 125 cc that hit the market after January 1st 2016.
