Suzuki Boulevard C109R

I have tried to tell the Suzuki Boulevard C109R (Intruder C1800R in Europe) model history on this page as I know it. In August 2008 Suzuki introduced their new long-distance cruiser, the Boulevard C109R (VLR1800), in Europe marketed as Intruder C1800R. It was powered by the fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, 1783cc DOHC V-twin from its sibling M109R. At glance the C109R looked like an old-timer, but it had cast light alloy wheels, LED backlight and modern reliable technology, something the motorbikes of the past could not offer. It was a heavy bike, though. The fuel-injected power plant delivered 114 bhp when needed, but it had to handled with firm hand at the parking lot. The standard version, the C109R, weighed 357 kilos (787 lbs) dry, the model versions with more accessories attached to them, even more. The C109R, was a naked bike. There was also a Touring model called C109R. It featured retro white wall tires, studded seat, windshield, backrest and leather saddlebags as well as two-tone paint scheme. A C109R SE (Special Edition) was also available, it was basically a Standard model also equipped with a windscreen, saddlebags and a passenger backrest. A forth variation was also offered in 2010, a C109R without the saddlebags and passaenger backrest but with the bling that the Touring model had but the Standard model did not; the white wall tires, studded seat and the two tone paint scheme.
