I have tried to tell the Suzuki Boulevard M90 (Intruder M1500 in Europe) model history on this page as I know it. The Suzuki Boulevard M90 / Intruder M1500 (VZ1500) was a power cruiser following the Suzuki Boulevard M109R / Intruder M1800R (VZR1800) that debuted in 2006. The Suzuki Boulevard M90 / Intruder M1500 was equipped with a newly designed fuel-injected 1500cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin SOHC 4-valve engine that generated maximum horsepower of 80.2 PS and maximum torque of 125.4 Nm. The design of th bike was quite similar to its larger sibling. Distinctive and flowing lines extended from the bikini cowling of the headlight to the tail. The wide stretched-out fuel tank, stout inverted front forks, and LED taillights all contributed to a bold exterior design. At 200 mm, the massive rear tire was the widest in its class and created a powerful and arresting impression. The Suzuki Boulevard M90 / Intruder M1500 also featured a long and roomy seat ideally matched to riding conditions and the rider’s physique, although many solo riders replaced the rear part of the seat with a cowl (aftermarket part) and the bike was often shown with such cawl.

The motorcycle comes stock with a standard passenger seat/pillion setup in the rear. The 2010 model continues with a ”host of race-bred features”, such as an advanced engine management system, Suzuki's Clutch Assist System (SCAS) and Suzuki's Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) digital fuel injection system. Suzuki didn’t introduce any technical changes in the 2010 Suzuki Boulevard S90 motorcycles. The M90's brassy styling is highlighted by a couple of new colours for 2010, including cherry red and a menacing pearl black. 2010 Suzuki Boulevard M90 was available in factory color options including Glass Sparkle Black (YVB), Metallic Thunder Gray (YLF), Candy Dark Cherry Red (YMK), and Metallic Triton Blue (YSF)

The 2011 Suzuki Boulevard M90 bikes had the same color scheme as the previous models. Technically and aesthetically, these bikes didn’t change during the years it was manufactured.

In 2015, Suzuki upped their game by applying a blacked-out treatment to the cast wheels, radiator, and frame of the Boulevard M90 bikes. The black paint created a striking contrast against the silver chromed plating on the engine and exhaust system. 2015 color options: Pearl Glacier White (YWW)

2016 Suzuki year code: L6

The design of the 2016 Boulevard M90 was updated. The Boulevard emblem on the fuel tank and the M90 badge on the side cover was replaced with simpler, more modern looking graphics. The wheels and most of the body details that used to be chrome plated were now black. Suzuki didn't make a new model for 2017 due to EU emissions regulations. Suzuki got an exception to sell their 2016 stock in 2017. So what Suzuki did was to quickly build a load of 2016s before then end of the year and keep selling them in 2017 as a '17 model. The last model year. Introduced originally in 2009 (as the M1500 Intruder in other markets), the Boulevard M90 received virtually no major mechanical or structural updates across its decade-long production run. Demand for traditional middleweight and large-displacement Japanese cruisers experienced declining. Buyer tastes shifted toward adventure bikes, naked standards, and neo-retro motorcycles. For the 2020 model year, Suzuki streamlined its U.S. and global cruiser offerings down to only a few core models such as the M109R and C50/C50T but discontinued the M90, C90, M50, and S40 models. 2019 Suzuki Boulevard M90 color options: Metallic Thunder Gray / Glass Sparkle Black (AA3), Glass Sparkle Black (YVB)
