I have tried to tell the Suzuki TV 50 Wolf model history on this page as I know it. Suzuki has used the Wolf name repeatedly since 1969. Even if we limit ourselves to 50cc models, there was also a leisure bike model called the Wolf RT50 Wolf that debuted in 1982, but this model history page is about the naked sports bike Wolf 50 that debuted in December 1989.

The Suzuki new Suzuki Wolf 50 (TV50) was was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in December 1989. It was available in four colors: Marble Pure Red (07P), Candy Luster Blue (33H), Light Charcoal Metallic (24K), Space Black (13Z). The Wolf 50 was basically a naked naked version of the RG50EW Gamma with a round headlight. Both models had used a liquid-cooled 2-strokepiston reed valve single-cylinder engine as a power plant producing a maximum output of 7.2 hp (5.3 kW) at 7,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 7-06 Nm (0.72 kg-m) at 7,000 rpm. Both models had now has been redesigned with new hollow 3-spoke aluminum cast wheels, new pattern flat tires and chamber type muffler. The frame of both bikes was a double cradle frame made of square high-tensile steel pipes, and the suspension used ANDF (anti-nose dive fork), full floater suspension, and hydraulic disc brakes. Although the square frame was made of steel, it was is painted silver to make it look like aluminum. The words ”Real Sprinter” was printed on the cover attached over the frame, which is the same double craddle frame as the RG50EW Γ, but a twin tube style cover is attached to the Wolf frame, making it look impressive and very strong. The handlebars are separate ”clip-on” type handlebars as on the RG50Γ, but the riding position is more upright position, typical for a naked sports bike. Although there's no visor, the instrument cluster is the same. The sporty tail cowl is the same as the one installed on the RG50Γ. The RG50EW Γ was launched years earlier that the Wolf so the serial numbers of the Suzuki TV50 didn't start from zero. No significant changes were during the ten years the model was manufactured. 1991 Suzuki year code: M

The 1991 Suzuki TV50M with new graphics was launched in March 1991 and had two colors options, Marble Pure Red (21X) and Space Black (01X). Note that the color codes, although using the same names as for the first version, were different. That's because of the different colors of the graphics on the rear cowl. In April 1991 a third color was added, and Space Black with Red flames on front mudguard, the fuel tank and the rear cowl. The frame and and the wheels were painted Red. Even the Marble Pure Red version had Red wheels while the Black model had Charcoal Gray wheels. The graphics have been slightly changed, and the body color is now only black. The color of the logos on the tail cowl and on the fuel tank were changed to purple. The price has increased to 223,000 yen. Major specifications remain unchanged. 1995 Suzuki year code: S

The final model of the Wolf 50, launched in november 1994, is equipped with two rear mirrors as standard equipment. The headlight is now always lit. Similar graphics as earlier. Apart from the mirrors, the model looks the same as before, but the color name has been changed from Space Black (01X) to Black (019). The price is 224,000 yen, an increase of 1,000 yen.
