Suzuki's (at the time) smallest V-Strom model, the DL250 (V-Strom 250) had been in production and sold in international markets since 2017 but was discontinued only after couple of years of production because its engine didn't meet the Euro 5 emission standards and it was illegal to be sold in most countries since 2020.
In April 2022 a new model was launched by Suzuki that replaced the model, Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX. The liquid-cooled twin engine of the previous model was replaced with the oil-cooled single cylinder 249cc motor that also powers the Gixxer 250 and SF250 models. It generates 26.1 hp of maximum power at 9,300 rpm and 22.2 Nm of peak torque at 7,300 rpm. It's linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Suzuki V-Strom SX is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS. Suspension duties on the bike are taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a swingarm-linked mono shock unit on the rear end.
The Suzuki V-Strom SX has a rugged design with an upright riding stance, a sculpted fuel tank, a prominent beak, a raised windscreen, knuckle covers, a split-style seat, an upswept all-black exhaust, and sporty graphics on the side panel. It has a fully-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and an all-LED lighting setup. It's available in Yellow, Orange, and Black.
Sfter releasing the V-Strom 160 in 2025, the 250SX is not longer the smallest
member of the V-Strom family.

Unchanged model. In some countries, the Suzuki V-Strom 250SX was introduced first time, as 2023 year's model. In Indonesia, the model was launched in April 2023, a year later than some other Asian countries like India and the Philippines.

The first update after the introduction of the 250SX was refreshing the color palette. Suzuki announced in November 2024 that for 2025, the new Sonoma Red Metallic color replaces the previous Pearl Blaze Orange tone. This shade joins the remaining coloroptions Champion Yellow and Glass Sparkle Black. The '25 V-Strom 250SX equipment and specifications remain unchanged.

Suzuki Colombia showed the 2026 models of the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX early, in April 2025. It appears that the M6 models are exactly the same as the M5 models. No changes in the specifications or the color palette.
