At the 2019 Taipei Motor Show in India, Suzuki's two-wheeler line-up included a new scooter - the Suzuki Saluto 125. It's a small 124cc scooter with an air-cooled single cylinder engine delivering 8.7 hp (8.8 ps) @ 7 000 rpm, manufactured in Indonesia and aimed for the Asian market, available in at least in India, Thailand and Taiwan. The Suzuki Saluto 125 has a retro-styled look and will mainly compete with 125 cc scooters from brands like Vespa and Lambretta. The Saluto 125 was designed by Alessandro Tartarini, Italian trendy motorcycle designer. The Saluto 125 was built on the underpinnings of the Access 125 but with different styling and with some technical details that set them apart. Both scooters come powered by a 124cc single-cylinder engine with Suzuki’s Eco Performance technology but with differenct power output. While the Suzuki Access had monoshock at the rear the Saluto got traditional dual shock absorbers at the rear. Braking hardware remains identical for both scooters comprising disc at the front and drum at the rear. In contrast to its retro styling, Saluto was offered a fairly modern list of features. The recently updated Access 125 was equipped it with an LED headlamp but the Saluto 125 took it a step further and came with a full-LED headlamp, LED DRLs, LED tail lamp and turn signals. It also offered keyless locking/unlocking mechanism, hazard light, pass switch, a semi-digital instrument cluster and a USB charging port. Saluto also receives a multi-function switch for the seat and fuel lid, circular rear view mirrors, a flat seat, air scoops on side panels, a chunky single-piece grab rail for the pillion and anti-skid strips on the footboard. Saluto got a rounded LED headlamp cluster with chrome or blacked-out bezel depending on the colour option. The color schemes might vary between market areas but in Taiwan the Saluto was offered in many different colors (see the color options below).
