Suzuki RM465 model history
1981—1982

I have tried to tell the Suzuki RM 465 model history on this page as I know it. This page is still under construction. Suzuki introduced its succesfull RM series of motocross models in 1975. The largest of them all, RM500, was introduced in 1983, even larger thanthe 1981—1982 RM465 and its precessor, the 1978—1980 RM400. At the time it was the largest motocrosser from Suzuki (when RM400 was introduced in 1980 it was the largest). The Full-Floater rear suspension was first used by the works road racing and motocross teams. It went into the RM series in 1981. Initial frame number: JS1RM11A_B_100001

1982 Suzuki year code: Z

The 1982-year's RM465D was practically the same bike as the 1981-year's RN465X. In fact, even t he '83 RM500 differed from the '82 RM465 mainly from the increase in engine bore size. Other than minor cosmetic changes, the bikes were very similar. Initial frame number: JS1RM11A_C_100001
