I have tried to put some Suzuki PV 50 / EPO info on this page. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. The EPO is a sporty pleasure bike equipped with a distinctive visible semi-double cradle frame known as the “pipeline” frame. Its 50 cm³ 2-stroke engine generates 3.8 hp and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It features a telescopic front suspension with exposed springs and a double rear suspension. The 8-inch wheels at the front and rear are shod with wide 89-mm tires. This model also features front and rear carriers with a headlight slung below the front carrier. The EPO is designed both for practicality and for short fun rides in the great outdoors. A retro version of this model, the EPO PV50, debuted in 1993.

In July 1981, Suzuki released an all-black Limited Edition version of the EPO, with gold colored wheels and EPO logo on the fuel tank. It also had a protection guard around the headlight, that was placed higher than on the original model and a tachometer. There was no front carrier on the LTD model. The Suzuki EPO PV50 model was discontinued after 1981.

A restriced version of the Suzuki PV50 EPO was sold in Finland. According to the local rules, it had maximum 1.5 hp. Here's more info of the Solifer-Suzuki PV50, sold in Finland.

A leisure bike released as a reprint of the EPO released in 1979. With a dry weight of 64 kg and a total length of 1,415 mm, the compact body was easy to handle and could be used for a wide range of purposes, from everyday use to off-road leisure. Like the original model released in 1979, it was equipped with a 50cc 2-stroke engine with a lead valve system and a 5-speed manual transmission, and despite its compact size, it was fun to operate. The internal model code was changed from PV50 to A-NA12A. The letters PV were printed on the side of the seat and the sales brochure only mentioned the model name PV50. The name ”EPO” was now discarded. Although the model name has changed, the basic specifications such as the 3.8 hp peak power, air-cooled 2-stroke engine, 5-speed transmission, 8-inch wheels, frame and exterior remain the same. Ignition was changed from magneto type to CDI and the rubber coated footpegs were changed to off-road type jagged metal footpegs. There was no tachometer, like the LTD model had. The '93 Suzuki PV50 was only available in Red/Blue.

The next and final version of the Suzuki PV50 EPO (A-NA12A) was presented in March 1995. Colors: Black, Chrome. Both had gold colored wheels and EPO logo on the fuel tank, like the 1981 Limited Edition. The Black version was being sold, unchanged, until 1999 but the one with chrome plated gas tank was a 75th Anniversary model that was only sold during a short period of time.
