Suzuki Motor Company says this about the ”machine that can run lightly and is ideal for beginners in road sports” (translated from Japanese): ”The lightweight and tough diamond-shaped frame is equipped with a 100cc 2-stroke single-cylinder rotary disc valve engine that exhibits tenacity at low and medium speeds and high-speed performance with elongation. Lubrication is our original CCIS with high reliability, and combined with a 5-stage transmission that can effectively draw out the engine output. It also features an automatically adjustable hydraulic disc brake that eliminates the hassle of adjusting the front wheels, improving braking efficiency during high-speed driving.”
In other words, the Suzuki GT100 is a small 2-stroke bike, the smallest sibling of the GT family, equipped with a single cylinder 97 cc engine delivering 12 hp. It shared the styling and even some parts with its big brothers. |

1977 Suzuki year code: B

Like other 1977 GT bikes, the GT100 had black side covers. Other than that, and the color scheme, the 1977 GT100 was the sameas before. The specifications of the bike were unchanged.
To be honest, I'm a bit puzzled when trying to figure out the model history of the Suzuki GT100. Suzuki Motor Company say that the model was manufactured between 1975 and 1977. Other sources claim the model was launched in July of 1975 and was made only that year.
Still, the model appears even in the same catalog that the GP125 that was launched in March 1978. Go figure. Perhaps it was the 1977 model they were selling out.
I have found two pictures of a blue 1977 GT100 that look quite different. It can be the same bike, only with quite different color matching.
It probably is.
