Suzuki GA50
1973—1976

I have tried to find some information of the Suzuki GA 50 to show on this page. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.

I stumbled on this Suzuki 50cc model when I saw a Japanese GT series brochure from 1974. Among the GT models GT750, GT550, GT380, GT250, GT185 and GT125 there was GA50. I can only guess why it did not receive the GT name. Perhaps the reason was that when the GT models devired from T models, the GA50 devired from the Suzuki A50. Also, Yamaha released a model called GT50 in 1972. That may be the reason why Suzuki chose a different model name.

The license system was revised in 1972, and a 50cc small sports car that can be driven with a moped type license was released in response to the increasing number of small car users. The press backbone type frame is equipped with a 2-cycle single-cylinder rotary disc valve engine that boasts a maximum output of 6PS and high performance. It has a large low-speed torque and exerts tenacious power on mountain slopes and rough roads. The transmission is a return type 5-stage that can fully bring out the engine performance, and the front fork is an aluminum ceriani type.
