I have tried to tell the Suzuki GSX 600 F model history on this page as I know it. 1988 Suzuki year code: J

GSX600FJ (frame numbers GN72A-100001 to GN72A-104098) The GSX600F was introduced at the 1987 Paris Bike Show, Salon Intrenational Du Motorcycle, in November 1987. It was introduced as a sports tourer. It featured a 16-valve twin cam engine, a 6-speed gearbox, a double cradle frame, twin Black finished exhausts, 17-inch White finished 6-spoke alloy wheels, twin front single rear disc brakes, integrated fairing and side panel design, monoshock rear suspension, two-part seat with the driver's seat stepped apart. Available colors: blue/white, red/white, black. As for many other Suzuki models, the GSX600F had its own name in the Nothern America. All the GSX-F models were called Katanas in USA and Canada.

GSX600FK (frame numbers GN72A-104099 to GN72A-106385) The following year's model had similar specifications as the GSX600FJ but had Silver silencers on the exhausts, 3-spoke alloy wheels and only blue or blue/white finishes.

GSX600FP (frame numbers GN72A-118194 to GN72A-121464) Revised graphics, finished in red or black.

1994 Suzuki year code: R

GSX600FR (frame numbers GN72A-121465 to GN72A-123709) No more "splash" style graphics. Colors: red or black with a two-tone seat cover.

1995 Suzuki year code: S

GSX600FS Replaces the GSX600FR with revised graphics and a single color seat, finished in sea blue or black.
