Suzuki GSX1200 Inazuma model history

I have tried to tell GSX1200 Inazuma model history on this page as I know it. This page is still under construction. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.

The GSX1200 Inazuma is very much alike the GSX750 Inazuma but the models are quite easy to tell from apart if you know where to look; the engine side of the GSX750 is all black as the GSX1200 has polished engine sides. Brembo brakes.

According to the specs found on Suzuki Ireland's website the seat height is 780 mm (30.7 in) and the dry weight: 211 kg (465 lbs). The sales brochure, printed in July 1999, says that the seat height is 795 mm (31.3 in) and the bike 1 kg lighter. Colors available: Pearl Steel Blue Gray, Metallic Saturn Black, Candy Antares Red

GSX 1200 Inazuma 2000 Owner: Jürgen Hoche, Germany Owns a GSX1400 now. Comments: ”GSX1200 is not as nice as the GSX1400, not so strong, but lighter and much better in handling!!! I have made a trip to the Doilomiten at 2.700 meters above the sea twice with the GSX1200 - it was super! In May 2002 i will make a trip there for the first time with my GSX1400.”
