I have tried to tell the Suzuki GSX-S 125 model history on this page as I know it. The all new GSX-S125 was lauched in Europe in September 2017, at the same time as the fully faired GSX-R125. Both bikes got the same 124.4cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine with 14.75 hp (10.8 kW) at 10 000 rpm, 11.5 Nm (1.2 kgf-m or 8.5 ft.lbs) @ 8 000 rpm. It's a punchy free revving engine with linear power delivery all the way to its 11,500 rpm redline. The bike is light, sporty and ecenomical. The GSX-S125 features vertically stacked LED headlights, with the low beam above the high beam, and position lights on each side of the headlight. The instrument panel is digital. The GSX-S125 has a full LCD instrument panel set in a modern dashboard, framed by turn signal, neutral, hi-beam, coolant temperature, malfunction indicator lamp, ABS, and programmable engine-RPM indicator lights. The GSX-S comes with a secure shutter-key lock system, which hides the ignition barrel until the separate receiver next to it has been triggered, using a unique magnetic fob found at the top of the key. 2018 GSX-S125 colors: Solid Black 50% Gloss (291), Stronger Red / Titan Black (GTA), Metallic Triton Blue (YSF)

As with many other motorcycle models, not just the GSX-S125, there were less 2021 models sold in Europe, partly because of the Covid-19 pandemic, partly because of the new strict emission regulations. From 1st January 2021 every new bike sold in the European Union was ment to comply with the next-generation 'Euro 5' emissions rules. Some motorcycle models could sail through the tests with minimal modifications but many others need extensive updates to meet the new rules Under EU type-approval rules, all Euro 4 motorcycles needed to be registered before the application of the environmental Euro 5 step on 1 January 2021. But this requirement was impossible to achieve as a result of the drop on sales caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall the global market for all types of vehicles was significantly affected by the economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic. EU type-approval rules foresaw a flexibility mechanism called “end of series”, which allowed manufacturers to continue making available on the market, register or enter into service a limited part of their stock of Euro 4 vehicles. However, this flexibility clause was not sufficient to address the problem of extra vehicle stock created by the sudden outbreak of the virus. The GSX-S125 received three colour schemes for 2021. The colors are: Metallic Triton Blue (YSF), Pearl Brilliant White / Aura Yellow (ATZ), Titan Black (YVU)

The next model version of the GSX-S125 was presented in April 2022 with new colours, and modifications to homologate the bike for the new Euro 5 emissions regulations. Although it was early in the year, the model was presented as 2023 year's model. The new bike gets a redesigned exhaust system that features a dual exit muffler, as well as a larger catalytic converter; an expanded air box (4.3 litres) and a larger (32mm) throttle body. It holds the same performance as the previous model, with almost 15 horsepower and 11.5 Nm of torque, delivered via a six-speed, constant mesh gearbox. The new colours for the bike includes a blue and silver with black wheels; black with blue wheels; and white with red wheels. The names of the colors are: Metallic Triton Blue / Titan Black (BGY), Titan Black (YVU) and Pearl Brilliant White / Titan Black (GHY).

2024 Suzuki year code: M4

The '24 model version of the GSX-S125 was presented in February 2024 with new colours. The available three colors were Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Triton Blue (BQJ), Stronger Red / Titan Black (GTA) and Titan Black (YVU). The Metallic Triton Blue version has blue wheels, the Stronger Red version has red wheels and the Titan Black version has now black wheels. It holds the same performance as the previous model, with almost 15 horsepower and 11.5 Nm of torque, delivered via a six-speed, constant mesh gearbox.

2025 Suzuki year code: M5

No changes were made for the specifications of the 2025 GSX-S125. Even the color options for the M5 models remained the same: Pearl Brilliant White / Titan Black (GHY), Stronger Red / Titan Black (GTA) and Titan Black (YVU). In some countries, older versions with different liveries were bering sold. In October 2024, the Suzuki UK website shows the following livery options for the M5 Suzuki GSX-S125: Titan Black (YVU), Stronger Red / Titan Black (GTA), Metallic Triton Blue / Titan Black (BGY), Pearl Brilliant White / Titan Black (GHY). It also shows the another version of the Titan Black (YVU) GSX-S125 with blue wheels, that's the M3 (2023) version.
