In late December 1998, just days before New Year, Suzuki announced that they have launched two new scooters, the 125cc ”Avenis” and the 150cc ”Avenis 150”.
The Avenis 150 (BA-CG43A) was s a mid-sized scooter equipped with a 152cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine. It had 12-inch wheels front and rear, for ease of maneuverability and driving stability. The rear wheels were equipped with a parking brake.
Suzuki calls it a 150cc scooter that aims for a higher level of texture and driving performance. It was equipped with a newly designed water-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder SOHC engine. With a maximum output of 16PS, it enables light and smooth driving by combining it with the V-belt automatic transmission. It had telescopic front forks and a hydraulic disc brake at the front.
The design of the Avenis was elegant and sporty with a sporty mini visor (windshield), large headlamps, and characteristic turingn signals.
There was a spacious 24-liter storage space under the seat. Refueling the 9-liter tank was possible without having to open the seat.
A few years after its introduction, it was supplied to Kawasaki on an OEM basis in 2002 and was also sold as Kawasaki Epsilon 150. At that time, there were mutual supply between Suzuki and Kawasaki, with models like Suzuki Skywave 250 Type S being supplied as the Kawasaki Epsilon 250, and Kawasaki supplying the Varios 2 and D Tracker, which were sold as Suzuki GSX250FX and 250SB.

2001 Suzuki year code: K1

In April 2001, color schemes of the Avenis 150 (BA-CG43A) were revised again. The new color options were Pearl Dark Space Blue (Y7H) and Sonic Silver Metallic (YUX). There were no noticable technical updates meade for the model during its model history.
According to Suzuki, the model was not discontinued until 2005, but I haven't found any information of any updates of even new colors during the last years it was made.
In March 2002, the model BA-CG43B was introduced. Not by Suzuki, but by another ”bg three” Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Kawasaki. ”Epsilon 150” was released by Kawasaki
after receiving OEM supply of Avenis 150 from Suzuki. Technically, the Suzuki and Kawasaki scooters were identical, only the colors and badges were different.
The only color available for the Kawasaki Epsilon 150 was Pearl Frosty White. To my best knowledge, there were no Suzuki Avenis scooters made in white.
That's a way to tell the models apart, if you don't notice the Avenis/Epsilon badges.
Sales of the Kawasaki Epsilon 150 discontinued in October 2005 Suzuki stopped making the Avenis 150 and the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) supply from Suzuki was discontinued.
