Suzuki Address 110 (UG110)

.
I have tried to tell the model history of the Suzuki Address 110 (UG110) as I know it. I would be grateful of any contributions — sales brochures, magazine ads, magazine articles, pictures, specs, facts, corrections etc. Please scan the material in JPEG format (large enough that all the details are visible) and send them to me. Please tell me the source and the publication date if possible. If you send me pictures of your own bike, please follow these instructions.

Suzuki Address 110 was the second-generation middle-class vehicle of the Address series, which first appeared in 1987. The Address 110 scooter was released in April 1998. It had a newly designed 113cc two-stroke engine that was quite smooth and powerful, offering the best power performance among the moped scooters of the time.

The Address 110 had a rigid frame, high-performance front and rear oil damper suspensions, 12-inch wheels –quite large for a scooter, providing a stable and comfortable ride when riding. There were a a large 27-liter under-seat storage space that could store small items such as rain gear.

The Address 110 also had an export model, the UG110 Hokuto. The main difference in appearance was the separate front and rear turn signals, shaped to meet the standards of the country of sale. Other notable differences from the Japanese model were that only a windshield model was available in Europe, its primary market. The Hokuto 110, primarily used in Europe, where environmental issues were strict, was ahead of its time compared to the Address 110, being equipped with parts (such as the air cleaner and muffler) that complied with environmental regulations earlier than the later UG110SY late model/SK1/SK3 (the Address 110's exhaust gas regulation-compliant models).

No major changes were made to the Suzuki Address 110 model between 1998 and 2003, when the model was discontinued. It was launched again by Suzuki in 2007 with slightly different specs. First it was only made for export, but returned to the Japanese market in 2015.

In UK, the Suzuki Address was introduced as a ‘big wheel’ 125 in 2007 before being reinvented as a slightly smaller wheeled 110 in 2014.

At first, the Address 110 was made in Japan but since 2015 it has been produced by Suzuki Motor Corporation’s subsidiary in Indonesia, Suzuki Indomobil Motor. After that, the model was been sold globally.

Two versions of the Suzuki Address 110 were available: a version with a protective windshield version and a version with a compact meter visor. The version with a windscreen had a model code UG110 and the sportier version UG110S.

The UG110W/SW was released in April 1998. It was highly practical, and gained popularity as a commuter bike. Nevertheless, at first, when the Address 110 was released, the customers experienced some problems. Some parts of the drivetrain needed improvement, as well as the fuel pump and the rear carrier required adjustments. That being said, the model also received many positive reviews, especially from practicality-oriented buyers.

A ”facelift” version of the Address 110 was launched in March 2000. The price was increased with the introduction of the aluminum cast wheel specification. The wheels were now cast alloy wheels, instead of pressed steel.

In addition to the cast wheels, the bike's reliability was improved, especially with the drive transmission. Adjustments were also made to the exterior, with minor changes to the design and materials. The 2000 model got a multi-reflector type headlight and the rear turn signal light were now clear instead of orange colored. The rear carrier was made stronger. While the seat on the earlier model was all Black, it was now two-tone Black and Gray.

In June 2000, a ”summer version” of the UG110SY was released with a special color. Aluminum cast wheel specification only.

The UG110 color options were unchanged from the previous year: Pearl Steel Blue Gray (Y9E), Candy Grand Blue (YC2) and Sonic Silver Metallic (YD8).

The initial serial number for the 2000 UG110Y/UG110SY was CF11A-112193.
Suggested retail price for the UG110Y in Japan: 250,000 yen

The K3 model, released in March 2003, was made quieter, now complying with the 2001 noise regulations, by changing the specifications of the igniter and CDI and changing the internal structure of the muffler. A resin cover was added to the crankcase cover to suppress noise from the drive transmission. A Suzuki "S" badge was added above the headlight. Only this K3 model has this ”S” sticker, making it a distinctive exterior feature.

In addition to the existing silver and blue, a new color, Glass Splash White, was added, but this color option was limited to 500 units.

Colors: Sonic Silver Metallic (YD8), Candy Grand Blue (YC2), Glass Splash White (YBD)

The initial serial number for the 2003 UG110SK3 was CF11A-506397.

The production of the 2-stroke Address 110 was discontinued in 2003. A four-stroke version of the Address 110 was launched in 2015. A European version of the Address 110 (UK110) was unveiled at Intermot in 2014, and the Japanese version of the new scooter was released in March 2015.
