Pictures
from Brighton Show (Tekniikan Maailma 10/1969). Click to enlarge.
I found
these pictures on the Finnish Tekniikan Maailma magazine. The
magazine covered the '69 International Cycle And Motorcycle Show
in Brighton, UK. The racing styled Crooks Suzuki (based on a T20)
and the AS50 Sports were the bikes that were mentioned from Suzuki.
The author told that the T20 could be made this delicious looking
by adding a racing fairing, aluminum fuel tank, racing saddle
etc. Eddie Crooks broke several world records in August 1968 with
a bike looking exactly like this one. The text mentioned two records:
1.000 km with a speed of 151,786 km/h and 12 hours with a speed
of 149,306 km/h.
About the AS50 Sports was told that it had five speeds, Posi-force
lubrication system, Reed valve, flashers, scrambler styled good-looking
exhaust system and it was easy to trim. The price in UK was 129£
and the maximum speed about 90 km/h. |
